Third Sunday of Easter

The Rev. Dr. Phil Olson, Interim Pastor

"Nothing But the Truth"

New Testament Lesson:                  Acts 3:11-19

Gospel Lesson:                                Luke 24:36b-48

Ushers:                              Susan O'Neal

Cantor:                              Charles Ferguson

Worship will be a hybrid service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Socially distanced seating will be available in the sanctuary. The radio broadcast will remain available for those choosing to remain in their vehicles. Tune your radio to 90.5 FM and adjust the volume as necessary. Worship materials will be distributed by ushers outdoors on the parking lot upon arrival as per usual, including for those choosing to worship indoors.

Prayer Friends of the Week:

Our prayer friend this week is Scott Whyte. Scott, the son of Donna and the late Russ Whyte, was raised in Covenant Church. He has served as an elder and on the Property Committee. He works with a partner to provide group homes in Sweet Springs and Columbia for disabled adult men. Please remember him in your prayers this week, and perhaps take a moment to send him an encouraging email, card, or note.

Covenant is collecting toilet paper for the Community Food pantry during the month of April. Donations may be given to ushers upon arrival at drive-in worship.

Covenant will observe Senior Sunday on May 16. Graduates will be recognized during worship, and an outdoor reception in celebration of their achievements will be held after worship. Please notify the church office of students who are receiving diplomas or degrees so that we can be sure to honor them on this occasion.

The Wired Word adult Sunday school class will resume in May.

There will be a Christian Education Committee meeting after worship on Sunday, May 2.

Covenant Presbyterian Women are reminded that it's time to pay annual dues of $12. Please make checks payable to CPW and give them to ushers with your offering upon arrival at drive-in worship or mail them to the church office.  These funds are used to support Presbyterian mission programs that elevate the lives of people worldwide.

Session will meet after worship on Sunday, April 18.

The deadline for the May newsletter is noon on Monday, April 19.

Rather than following the assigned greeter/usher schedule, the Worship Committee invites volunteers who are willing to hand out bulletins and receive offerings at our drive-in services to contact the church office to indicate dates of availability. Ushering will continue to be done outside for hybrid worship services. Now that the weather is improving, please consider volunteering for this role.

The church office is aware of volunteers who are willing to help with the needs of those trying to maintain optimal self-isolation and to assist with the logistics of accessing COVID-19 vaccination (help with online registration, rides to appointments, etc.). If you are in need of such assistance, please contact the church office.

Please contact David Van Horn at 660-815-7707 if you are in need of pastoral care.
