Prayer Friends of the Week:

Our prayer friends this week are Virgil and Nancy Rabe. The Rabes moved to Marshall in the 1960’s when Virgil took a position as a professor of religion at Missouri Valley College. They and their two children joined the Odell Avenue Church, and the Rabes have been active members of the congregation ever since. Virgil retired from MVC and Nancy retired from her career as a nurse and nursing educator. At Covenant, Nancy has served as an elder, was a long-time member of the choir and active in mission work. Virgil has served the congregation by filling our pulpit from time to time. They celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this week. Please remember them in your prayers this week, and perhaps take a moment to send them an encouraging email, card or note. Mail may be sent to them at 316 E. Black in Marshall.

By order of Session, all indoor events and activities at Covenant Presbyterian Church have been cancelled until further notice.

Mid-year contribution statements are in the mail. Please contact Christi Bentley or the church office with any questions.

Session will meet on the church lawn after drive-in worship on Sunday, July 19.

The deadline for the August newsletter is noon on Monday, July 20.

Drive-in worship is being held at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays in order to minimize the impact of the summer heat on our services.

Covenant is collecting items to be donated to the Community Food Pantry as a Christmas in July event. We are collecting toilet paper and boxes of cereal in July. Donations may be handed to an usher upon arrival at drive-in worship.

Rather than following the assigned greeter/usher schedule, the Worship Committee invites volunteers who are willing to hand out bulletins and receive offerings at our drive-in services to contact the church office to indicate dates of availability.

The Worship Committee invites members of the covenant family to communicate announcements, joys and concerns by phone or email to the church office by close of business on Fridays in order for them to be shared during drive-in worship.

The church office is aware of volunteers who are willing to help with the needs of those trying to maintain optimal self-isolation. If you are in need of assistance with errands, please contact the church office.

If you are aware of anyone who will need assistance with being able to afford utility bills, please inform them of the Benevolence funding available through the Marshall Ministerial Alliance. Persons in need may contact Jeannie Tucker at First Baptist Church (660-886-5546) to schedule an appointment with Rev. Wayne Doolin (appointments are at 1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). Please also consider donating to the Alliance’s Benevolence Fund to help them be able to meet this summer’s increased need for assistance.

Please contact David Van Horn at 660-815-7707 if you are in need of pastoral care.
